A family bespoke house on Silom Road since 1974, run by twin brothers who learned the trade from their tailor father.
Perry’s Tailor has worked from the same premises on Silom Road since July 1974. Up a narrow staircase beside the Sala Daeng Skytrain station, the shop is run by twin brothers Phonchai and Narong, who between them are known simply as “Perry”.
The brothers learned their craft from their father, a tailor who came to Thailand from mainland China in 1928. The name Perry came on the advice of a diplomat client, who suggested something easier for foreign customers to remember — and it stuck for half a century.
The shop is classic in every sense: rows of cloth imported from European mills such as Dormeuil, Ermenegildo Zegna and Loro Piana, careful in-house work, and a clientele that is reported to have included the Duke of Edinburgh, two UN Secretaries-General and the actor Robin Williams.
Two generations, one craft, the same Silom address for 50 years.
The brothers’ father, a tailor, moves to Thailand from mainland China and passes the trade on to his sons.
In July 1974 the twins open their shop on Silom Road, taking the name “Perry” on a diplomat’s advice.
Phonchai and Narong still work in the same premises, making suits for loyal local and international clients.
Classic tailoring for men and women.
$$$ upper-mid tier
A two-piece suit is reported to start from about ฿18,000 and take around one week to finish. [verify current prices with the shop] The final price depends mostly on the cloth: premium mills such as Loro Piana and Dormeuil cost more.

Perry’s Tailor is the pick for buyers who want classic bespoke from a true family house: fifty years on the same Silom site, owners who still do the work, and cloth from Europe’s best mills. It is not the fastest or the flashiest, but for a traditional, well-made suit in the business district, it is hard to beat.
